‘Board-Swap’ Event Gives Surfers the Ability to Try Something New and Different

Inbox

Wildwood – By June, in the heat of the summer, surfers everywhere are anxious to store away their obligatory rubber-skin, booties and gloves for the season. By this time, winter has gotten the best of the old board, riddled with dings from a stray knee cap or elbow slam that occurred during an abrupt fall, but it’s hard to let go of the board that is responsible for so many good memories in the pursuit to Follow the Waves. However, what if those memories could be shared with another individual by way of a trade?

With Kona Surf Company’s 2nd Annual Board-Swap Event, Kona is giving our local surfers/skaters the ability to trade in for something new, better and different from what we may not be used to. On Sunday, June 25th from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Kona Board House, 160 W Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260, men and women in the surfing and skating community can bring a surfboard, longboard or skateboard over to the shop to be traded with other boards on display for the same intended purpose. At the event, attendees will enjoy live music by Stellar Mojo, delicious food, and of course, have the ability to trade surfboard for surfboard, skateboard for surfboard, or longboard for surfboard. No limit on the amount of boards you can bring, and no limit on the amount of trades you can make. No fees are required. We only ask that you Follow the Waves over to the Board House, and bring your stoke.

“This was an idea that I have had for some time, and I was glad that we were able to get it off of the ground last year for the 1st Annual,” said Mike Sciarra, owner of Kona Surf Company. “With this year’s event being our second annual, and given the success of last year’s board-swap, we are looking to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever,” said Mike.
