Kona Summertime PU Series Surfboard
We love our mid-lengths for several reasons, primarily because of their ease of use and wave-catching ability. The Summertime is the midlength that gives both in buckets. It's a super easy board to ride, catching most waves you paddle for.
The low-nose entry rocker makes for even easier paddling and trimming down the line. This feature, combined with the added volume of a middie, ramps up the fun levels and keeps you paddling out throughout summer despite the conditions. It has a single concave bottom with a pulled-in squash tail that allows the rider to surf off the tail, which is what you want on the mid-length and not off the rail as much.
It also features a wider nose than your regular fun board, allowing you to ride the nose should you be that surfer. The Summertime model is great for all conditions, from those smaller summer days to overhead surf. While the standard mid-length is recognised these days as a board to surf when the conditions are average, they also have what it takes to get into and out of bigger waves. A mid-length offers more paddle power and plenty of rail, and provides a healthy dose of confidence when looking over the edge. This board is a must-have board for your quiver!
Outline:A rounded nose and a wider body than your classic funboard give this board plenty of stability with an easy-to-find sweet spot. The wide point is pushed far forward for a lot of stability. The rails taper nicely to a thumb tail. a combination of squash and round tails. that offers the best of both tail designs.
Rocker:The low rocker is flat enough for nose rides but also gives that extra wetted surface to allow for fast paddling power and instant acceleration when up and riding. It offers excellent stability and plenty of lift to reduce nose-diving. It will surprise you in how many more waves it will help get you into. We predict way more than usual.
Bottom Contours:A single concave through the board gives you plenty of bite for a nice and controlled cruise. Should you find yourself at the bottom of a steep. hollow wave. the single concave will give you that extra bite and squirt to get into the barrel or onto the wave face with speed.
Tail:The thumb tail is becoming increasingly popular these days as a combination tail design for various conditions and provides just enough hold. leaning more towards a fast and loose feel.
