The proper fin set-up on your longboard is a make it or break it situation. There is no exact science to it. Fin adjustments are based on your riding preference. If your board is slipping on turns, move the fin back. If your turns feel tight, loosen it up by moving the fin closer to the tail. Fine tune the position by setting the fin deeper or shallower. More fin in the water will give you more stability.
Fin set-ups affect your ride. The fins available on this page are for single fin or 2+1 set-ups. Single fins create less drag and are perfect for smooth, slow turns on small to medium surf. A perfect beginner set-up. A 2+1 fin set-up is one longboard center fin with two smaller fins on the side for advanced turns in gnarly surfing conditions for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Kona Longboard Fins are single center fins. Available in classic style or single pivot fin in a variety of sizes, styles and colors.
Classic single fins are for all surfing conditions.
Single pivot fins are for square or pin tailed boards for added performance.
